Designer in der Nahaufnahme - Interview mit Daniel Garcia Sanchez
29.04.2011

When did you get into contact with design for the first time?
When I was 4 years old I used to say that I want to to be an inventor when I grow up.

Do you remember your first project? Does it still have any significance for you?
When I was about 6 or 7 years old I remember that I designed my own car. It was a mix: Car seating, washing machine motor, baby cart wheels. Obviously I this car never got built ;). I think that this design doesn't have any significance for me nowadays, because I love to design furniture and not cars.

If you had to choose, which one of all your designs would you take with you on a deserted island?
Tumbona Zen, so i could enjoy a comfortable sunbath.

Where does your inspiration come from? Your ideas?
Difficult question. From many places or situations. When I am in the middle of the creative process of designing something, almost everything seems to give me inspiration for new forms, materials, processes etc. for a new project.

What is the significance of design for you?
Design is my life.

Is there anything else you like to add?
I would like to say thanks to the avandeo team. Thank you for trusting me.
